  • The Design Factory designed, manufactured and installed all cabinets
    in this Samamish, Washington house.
  • They are made from secect Alder, stained and finished with conversion
    varnish.
  • The upper cabinets are 15" deep and the interiors are select alder veneered plywood the same as the doors. The base cabinet interiors are made from prefinished maple veneered plywood.
  • The drawers have soft close slides and the doors have soft close hinges.
  • All base cabinets have roll out shelves. In the hallway next to the refegerator are two built in 24" x 80" pantrys with roll out shelves behind the lower doors and vertical storage units behind the upper doors.

This piece of kitchen furniture is both beautiful and functional.  It can be used as a decorative storage and serving surface for a casual buffet or a work station for serious cooks. The elegant tapered legs firmly ground the piece and the generously over hung top gives it both a “craftsman” and Japanese character.
  • Features:  This Kitchen Island top can be used as a cutting and/or food preparation surface as it has a non toxic finish and can easily be refinished by sanding and reapplying mineral oil.  The top two full extension soft close drawers allow ample storage for utensils and the three pull out shelves can be removed to move contents to the work surface.  The lower right area allows for the storage of ten bottles of wine.
  • Size:  30” deep, 36” high and either 48” or 60” long.
  • Materials: The cabinet is made from veneered plywood and the legs and trim are solid wood.  The top is 2.25” thick laminated solid wood. It can be supplied in Alder, Cherry, Maple, Vertical Grain Fir , Red Oak or White Oak.  The Alder and Cherry units have matching solid hardwood tops.  All others have laminated Maple tops.
  • Finish:  The cabinet, drawers and pullouts are stained and lacquered.  The laminated top is finished with mineral oil.

They are non-toxic, will not turn rancid and are easily refinished.
